The Wilimek Financial Money School program is a series of workshops delivered over a four-week period with the intention of empowering students to better understand, manage, and improve their finances.

Money Mindset, Behaviours

Setting Effective Money Goals

Session One

In this class, we'll begin by talking about Money Mindset. This includes your own individual money origin story, which will give you more insight into your saving and spending habits, where they come from, and show you where your perspectives or learned behaviors may sabotage or otherwise affect the actions you take with your finances. We'll talk about techniques to attract more money, and hone in on your personal goal for Money School.

Budget Basics & The Power of Saving

Session Two

GUEST SPEAKER: Mortgage Broker

In this class, you'll learn about how to tackle debt and create a cash cushion. We'll chat about your budget and why it doesn't need to be a dirty word! We'll review ways you can save your money, and some financial rules of thumb. You'll learn about the power of savings, and how to harness them for your own financial future.

Wednesday March 29^th, 7:30-9:00pm

Credit, Insurance, Benefits...Oh My!

Session Three

GUEST SPEAKER: Accountant

In this class, we'll delve into what credit is, how to build it, and how to leverage credit to work for you. We'll also cover what living benefits are, and why you may need them. On a similar note, we'll discuss the various types of life insurance, how they work and who needs what type.

Wednesday April 5^th 7:30-9:00pm

Bringing Everything Together

Session Four

In this final class, we'll talk Investment 101: how, where, and why. You'll learn how to read your investment statements, and how to build a portfolio. We'll also cover exactly what you need to be thinking about and planning to do for a financially comfortable and enjoyable retirement.

Wednesday April 12^th, 7:30-9:00pm

You will leave each session with homework to do to set you up for the next session, but more importantly, to set you up with all of the tools for you to be able to put yourself in a better financial position than you were in when you started the series. And remember, all Money School Graduates are invited to re-take future Money School sessions, as our Money Mindset is a lifelong journey.
